Season predictions

Season predictions happen in two named periods. "Pre Season" is the prediction you make before the season starts: the full final table for your league plus bonus questions like champion and top scorer. "Mid Season" opens partway through the season and lets you update your prediction based on how the season has actually gone. Position points are awarded by the distance between your predicted and the real final position (10/7/5/3/1/0 points depending on distance; NHL positions are compared within each division). Table predictions and bonus questions are weighted 80/20 into a 0–100 season index, and Pre Season counts for 60% while Mid Season counts for 40% of the total. As long as a round is not fully settled, the index only counts the parts that already have a confirmed result.
